Melia Hotel Hanoi Reviews:
Good hotel in convenient location by CookieMonsterUk - Tripadvisor.com I stayed at the Melia for 3 nights on business. It's a good hotel about 10mins walk to the lake in the centre of town. It cost my sponsors about $165 per night for a room with Executive lounge access, which is pretty reasonable in my experience although I don't have anything to compare it with in Vietnam. The gym is well equipped; the changing rooms and jacuzzi clean; and the outdoor pool ok albeit a little small. Breakfast on the Executive floor was a bit bland. Wifi was included in my deal. I didn't use the restaurant in the evening - the local bars and restaurants are much cheaper. There is an ATM right outside the hotel entrance.
5 Star - in a hectic and chaotic city by Pete_from_DY - Tripadvisor.com In Hanoi you don't always get what you pay for (DVDs that don't work when you get home!) but if you want a well run hotel, with professional and friendly staff and all the mod-cons, close to the old town then I would recommend the Melia. Yes you can find cheaper but you will pay in other ways! Quiet rooms, comfy beds, nice bathrooms and a good quality breakfast bar are worth the price. We didn't eat in the restaurants $USD20 all you can eat options were not what we wanted. We did a trip to Halong Bay, leaving our bags in the storeroom - no problems! Instructions to taxi drivers to ensure we got to where we wanted to go, all part of the service. In a chaotic city the Melia is an oasis.
Melia Hotel Hanoi by member hotelclub.net Stayed in an executive suite - would have had great views across Hanoi, but for the weather. Accommodation was excellent as was the nightly complimentary snacks and drinks in the executive lounge. Service was very attentive and helpful. Would stay again. by hotelclub.net
Perfectly acceptable by Perfectly acceptable - Tripadvisor.com I stayed here on business for five days on my first trip to Hanoi. The staff were helpful and gave me a free upgrade to a suite on check-in. The room was enormous and non-smoking as requested, which is not always the case even when rooms are designated as such. The food was good, including the lunch buffets. The location is excellent and you can walk to most places of interest from the hotel. I would stay there again.
Melia Hotel Hanoi by MR. MCKINLAY, Thomas Asiarooms.com A very good hotel with excellent food and services. My preference would be for a Shower Stall/Unit other than the old style bath shower currently insalled.
Excellent hotel in convenient location by traveller_spain - Tripadvisor.com I stayed 4 nights at this hotel, but one night break after the first 3 as I went to Halong Bay, leaving my luggage there (no problems at all). LOCATION: is quite central and convenient to walk to the old quarter & french quarter. This area is not so busy and crazy like old quarter and buildings are more modern. Ride from the airport is 50 minutes and with official taxi you should pay 15 dollars. HOTEL: the building looks quite modern, very clean and very big lobby. There is an small swimming pool (good to relax after walking with hot weather), reastaurant, Latino Bar, ... Staff is very friendly and helpful and as typical in South East Asia you will see them smiling almost all time. Hotels in old quarter will be more central and cheaper, but rooms will be smaller, older, ... This was the right choice. ROOMS: I paid 110 dollars per night and as I have the Melia frequent guest card I was upgraded to an executive the first 3 nights and suite last night, so I was quite happy with room size, comfort and amenities, as it looks very modern. BREAKFAST: big selection of Eastern and Western food, fresh fruit, yougurts, cakes, ... one of the bests in my trip. INTERNET: is expensive, i remember it was 12-15 dollars per day, and if you use business center you pay same amount even if you use it only a few minutes. In front of hotel there is an internet cafe with free wifi, so I went there. Overall, a good place to stay, adecuate price although a bit expensive for cost of living in Hanoi, good location, good service. I would choose this hotel again if I go back to Hanoi.
