Hidden surprise - not what we paid for by Bristravel - tripadvisor.com
All the staff at this hotel were very helpful and friendly. Our first room was tiny, but had one internal window that looked out onto an airshaft and the bathroom window gave views onto the roof next door. We paid extra to upgrade to a larger room for 3 nights, and the 1st night in the larger room was interesting - to say the least!! A RAT was also sharing the room with us - not a nice way to be woken up in the early hours of the morning! At 3.30am we knew for sure it was a rat when it jumped off the shower curtain onto my husbands head then ran under the bed. Not much sleep after that, and at 6am we saw it run up the curtains and disappear onto the top of the wardrobe. Needless to say we asked for another room. The staff were very apologetic and accomodating and so we moved into our 3rd room. This was bigger still and we had no more problems. Other than "the rat" incident the Hotel was neat and clean, but it definitely put us off staying there again - we'd pick one a bit closer to more restaurants and attractions.

Good location, but, rats in the restaurant by ozlemv - tripadvisor.com
gl0betr0tta is right. You can the rat droppings on the other side of the glass in the glass ceiling of the restaurant. The rooms are basic. The bathrooms are too old. The customer service is ok. The only good thing about this hotel is its location. Since your tour agent -Asia Venture www.asianventure.com(Think twice before you arrange your tour with these guys. We had many problems with them during our tour- arranged our hotel bookings and we did not have a chance to change our hotel. That's why we stayed there for 2 nights. But, if I had a chance, I would stay at Viet Hotel.

Very warm welcome! Deima - tripadvisor.com
Very simple hotel in a very noisy area. But the service was excellent, girls at the front desk very very helpful. Just on our last night when we came back from town we still had vietnamese local money about $13 worth, because we were leaving very early in the morning, we didn't have where to spend those money, so asked the man at reception if he could change to $ and what is the exchange rate. He didn't tell us the exchange rate, asked how much have we got and offered $10. Made me angry! So I changed it next morning before we left and got $13 from the girls at the reception.

Awesome family experience at great value by WinnManila - tripadvisor.com
Our family of 5 (three children under 10 yrs old) stay for three days and two nights. The location was as advertised in the old town section and 15 min walking distance to the Lake Kiem. We arrived in the evening and wanted to book a trip to Ha Long Bay the next morning. The staff there (Ngoc??) booked us right away for the next morning for just $25 per adult which include round trip transportation (o/a 3 hours)and the boat trip to Ha Long Bay with seafood lunch included. Back to the hotel, all the staffs were very friendly and helpful. All spoke good English and were knowledgeable when advising shopping, dinning and entertainment spots within the city. The room were clean, LARGE and has two balconies. I gave it a 4 out of 5 because the bathroom/shower has drainage problem and looks like the renovation work looks unfinished. Breakfast was included for the three days. When we return to Hanoi, we would love to come back to VIET HOTEL again. A BIG THANK YOU to the staffs at VIET HOTEL for making our vacation the best one yet!

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and great location. by pilotmmck - tripadvisor.com

The room was very clean and big. (Stayed in familly suite.) The staff was very friendly and helpful. Check in was easy with no problems and check out also fast and easy with hotel arranging car to airport. Location is very good near the night market area. (Short nice walk with plenty of opportunity for good street food.) The rates are very reasonable even for the suite. Thanks to the staff at Viet hotel. We would stay again.

Great hotel! But choose your room wisely by Susana61 - tripadvisor.com
I travelled with two friends. Initially we booked standard rooms but asked to be changed the next day as these rooms had windows that faced a wall and were extremely dark. The rooms with windows are great: roomy, clean, bright and modern. On the last day we had to move to the biggest room in the hotel (a former conference room that was converted into a bedroom) which was extremely big but was obviously undergoing a process of renovation and was, as yet, unsuitable as a bedroom. Other remarkable features of the hotel are the reception staff (Jennifer in particular but there were all very kind and helpful) and the delicious breakfasts we enjoyed each morning. In all, a great place to stay in Hanoi.

Huge room and great value for money by MangoKat - tripadvisor.com

We stayed in Viet Hotel for 5 days. We travel with 2 children, so it is nice to have a large room. In Viet Hotel, it turned out that their "Family room" also served as a conference room! It was truly big, had two double beds, a sofa area, tv, desk, fridge etc. There was a washroom with separate toilet and showerroom. The room had a huge panoramic view and lots of light during daytime.

To be honest, the room was a bit run down. The floors were broken, and the room might have needed some paint. However, we got the room for §65 pr. night instead of the official price of §95, so we were happy. Room number is 502, as far as I remember.

Location was really good with easy access to the old town and the nearby market. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was fine. There is free Wifi in rooms and free internet in the lobby.

Rats in the Restaurant! by gl0betr0tta - tripadvisor.com
I stayed in Hanoi for 5 days with my boyfriend. We stayed in Viethotel for 3 nights, on the 4th floor. Our room was a deluxe room, and was fine, though hardly worth the extra money compared to the standard room. Fresh fruit was provided daily along with two complimentary bottles of water. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the tours provided were competitive (though we ended up arranging our excursions, including 2 days in Ha Long Bay with an agency in town). There is free internet access available in the lobby and the reception are able to arrange cabs and motorcycle hire at competitive rates which is very convenient. However, on our third night, we dined in the restaurant on the 6th floor... where I saw a rat run through the dining area into the kitchen. When we reported this to the staff they simply laughed it off, telling us it's no problem. They admitted that they had many rats in the hotel. In fact, as the restaurant was empty at this time, we could hear rats squeaking and scuttling above our heads which was very offputting. Furthermore, on looking up at the lights in the ceiling of the restaurant you can see on the other side of the glass what could only be rat droppings all over the glass. Rats are likely to populate many places in Vietnam, however from a 3* hotel, I expected more and was disgusted to find rats in the restaurant.

it s my first time to go to hanoi. got this hotel name only from this website and had no idea what i would get. To be honest, when i first came in around 7 pm, i did underestimate this 3-star hotel. The lobby was so simple but the staff was so lovely and they served well. But when i check into my room, gosh, it was so nice. Clean, lovely, and the bed was great. i also loved the design. Well, the minus thing was just it had no window, but it was ok, sinve i didnt really need it. I tried to ve my dinner at the restaurant and the quality of the food was very good. Indonesian people was not very easy to accept other food from any other country but this food was really suited my asian taste. The breakfast was superb and delicious too, i'd even rather being late to come to the meeting only because i just didnt wanna skip this breakfast time- they had such a delicious mayonaise veggie roll :) The location was great too, easy to reach to tourist central location and u even could walk when u plan to see midnite market - which i missed hehehehhee. I ll be back to hanoi in december, surely i ll stay at your place again. This time i wont miss the halong bay trip again :)

Viet hotel was lovely! I arrived early about 10am and was delighted to get the room then. Lovely style hotel, small rooms but you can't beat the location. It's situated in the old quarter of Hanoi city The only negative thing was early moring noise from a nearby school and vehicle horn from the main street when I opened the window for fresh air (but it's quite if the window is closed). Do not stay there if you don't love children and their screamings Smiley welcoming staff, made you feel like home from the moment you check in. After all, I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone who's going to Hanoi.

AMAZING HOTEL by neena2709 - tripadvisor.com

it s my first time to go to hanoi. got this hotel name only from this website and had no idea what i would get.
