This hotel is quite comfortable. I was there on business. Service was good overall and they were helpful in arranging for a private half day tour of Hanoi. Rooms are nice size and clean. Carpet was fresh on the non-smoking floor where I stayed. Buffet breakfast is good, though a bit limited. I had the 1st floor buffet, not the second floor buffet mentioned by another reviewer. Bar is reasonable. Location is a bit far from the Old Quarter, maybe 15-20 minutes by taxi with “normal” traffic, but could be twice as long during the rush. Not much around the hotel. Across the street from the US Embassy. One problem, apparently prevalent in Vietnam, is the dishonesty of the taxi service. The hotel called a special “airport taxi” for transportation to the airport and quoted a fixed price. Upon arrival, the driver tried to increase the price by another 25 percent. There is a small casino room for non-Vietnamese. Rather dark and smoky. This is not Las Vegas, but I guess most guests ignore it.

Very good hotel for the price that we got. They have a lot of activities at the hotel. Unfortunately we came to late so that we had no possibility to try the activities. But, just to have a bowling hall is something special! Room service very good with nice food. Fairly good size of the rooms and a nice break fast in the morning.

I read bad reviews of this hotel and i must say it is not as bad as it sounds. I learned that it used to be sleazy and much worse but now it is family owned and they are trying to make it be again a good business hotell. ROOMS: they are spacious, clean and you can't hear noise from the outside traffic. BATHROOM: clean. You gotta figure out the jaccuzi- where to sit when u take a shower so you don't wet the phole bathroom :). LOCATION: traffic is bad so it might take 20-30 min to get to the old town... EVERRYTHING ELSE: rooms are great..service is great too..lobby - sleazy and restaurant in the obby as well...but if you need a clean nice room...you got it

I stayed here on my second trip to Hanoi. It's a great hotel with very nice staffs. I booked a VIP room and it's 5x nicer than the rooms at Sheraton or New World (in HCMC) which cost about twice as much. The hotel is not within walking distance of the old quarter, but taxi cab costs about 2-3 dollars wherever you want to go. It totally worth the $. Will definitely stay here again.
